They say it’s a jungle out there, but is this show the lioness or just a meerkat in Louboutins? I watched Lipstick Jungle while making a dress(I’ll post a picture of it later)so my attention wasn’t 100% but I do have fantastic multi tasking skills! After so many ‘not so good’ Sex and the City spin offs all with quotes “From the makers of Sex and the City”, “Critics are saying this is the new Sex and the City” or even “ This show is better than Sex and the City” I have given up. Lipstick Jungle is a worse version of Cashmere Mafia, and Cashmere Mafia was axed after the first season. But at least Cashmere Mafia had some good clothes. Lipstick Jungle is just a bunch of middle-aged women going through mid-life-crises in, well, average clothes. Apparently (as they say in the ads) these women are powerful, I highly doubt that. The characters seem fake and are not able to be related to but they are suspiciously similar to Cashmere Mafia’s characters , the movie executive Wendy Healy played by Brook Shields is just like Zoe Burden from Cashmere Mafia, both trying to juggle, friends, kinds and work, Nico Reilly played by Kim Raver is like Mia Mason of C.M. (Cashmere Mafia), are both magazine editors and Victory Ford played by Lindsay Price is similar to Caitlin Dowd, well they’re not the same, (one’s a fashion designer the other is the head of marketing for a cosmetics company .
I am seriously over these unoriginal shows/spin offs. I want to watch something that isn’t predictable and still appealing to women of all ages (well 16-40).
