Diane von Furstenberg fw09

was thoroughly disappointed with this whole collection. The DVF I knew and LOVED was colourful, ‘garden party-ish’ and above all very polished. But this? What’s with the dark gloomy colours? Where are the wrap dresses? Has DVF really sunk to the ‘hobo chic’/'getting dressed blindfolded look? WHY THE LEGGINGS?? Has Diane and that little man gone over to ‘the dark side’? Oh and, pom poms? Pom Poms? POM POMS? POM POMS IN YOUR HAIR?
I want the old DVF backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s exactly what I thought as well. She is known for her feminine, form-defining silhouettes. These shapeless creations make me wonder how much of a control she still has over what comes out under her name. She’s been in the business for long enough to know how important consistency is.
i don’t. i’ve never paid attention to her until now.
and its all because of the pom poms. i love the pompoms! I think this collection is a little Anna Sui though…
Its all a bit mishmashed isn’t it. Not very DVF (or at least not what i associate with the designer…). The shapes aren’t very interesting either…
Lovely blog btw.
xx
it’s not very DVF at all, but i thought it was a nice change! i’m sure there will be wrap dresses, in those prints showcased, but they just weren’t on the runway. all’s not lost!
