50’s inspired, cut out dress.

People deal with problems in different ways, I avoid it and distract myself, my source was distraction today lead me to this.

A 50’s inspired, cut-out back, fully lined dress.  Now all I have to do is find shoes that work with it.

R.I.P Great grandad.

28 03 2009

There’s nothing like the passing of one’s close relative or friend that makes one treasure one’s own life. He was 94 years old, and left us in his sleep. I kind of grew up with him, he and my great grandma(Who passed away 5 years ago) looked after me when my mum had to go back to work when I was 3 months old up until I was 4. But luckily I spent some time with him when I went back to China, he was such a great man. He’ll be very dearly missed by all of his 7 of his children, their children and their children.

Some old fashioned fun.

27 03 2009

I painted today it was so much fun, I feel so fulfilled!

It might go on my wall, but I’m not sure, maybe it’s too bright. No I did not wear the outfit in the post below while doing it. I changed into my most ‘artzy’ outfit consistency of over sized Ralph Lauren men’s shirt, black skinny jeans with a rope type belt, silk scarf bandanna and bi-color (now paint splattered) flat pumps!

Outfit 26-03-09… well not really.

26 03 2009

Well this was taken on… a night day or two ago but I never posted it. But I would wear the exact same thing if I wasn’t cooped up in bed with a horrible cold that went around my class; the Helen domino effect cold. Helen started it and since then it was passed from one person to another like a bottle of cheap alcohol at an underage party.

100_5389Shirt: Teenie Weenie

Brooch: gift

Pants: DKNY

Bag: Vintage Longchamp

Shoes: RMK

But after looking at it I realised something was not right with the pants (DKNY tuxedo trousers).

So I bravely got out of bed and wore it with plain black Miss 60 stretch skinny jeans.

Hmm better?

I put some new shoes on and…

24 03 2009

Suddenly everything is fine I wish I could finish the Paulo Nutini song but that would be a lie and quite a pointless thing to do.

Is the internet causing procrastination or is it my lack of time management skills? I know I’ve probably blogged about this before but it’s really bothering me right now. Last night I came home early to finish/get ahead in my math exercises and watch scrubs but I thought checking my emails and comments wouldn’t hurt but before you know it’s 8pm and ‘scrubs’ was on. I promised myself that as soon as ‘scrubs’ was finished I was going to do math. At about 8:27 I got an email alert about ‘the connection between beaching whales and natural disasters’. This got me curious, since there has been quite a few whale and dolphin beaching incidents and also 2 earthquakes in a fortnight. So I spent another hour researching that, but I comforted myself with the fact that I was still multi tasking; reading and commenting your blogs, twittering, foruming (why on earth did I sign up for so many forums?) and looking at the pop art movement (aka my art assignment) and again time flew by and it was bed time. I did nothing of the productive sort and now I have the guilt cloud hovering over my head. And when I opened my school diary I saw the carefully listed homework I had I nearly had a panic attack.

So tonight I did plan to do homework only to realise nothing is due tomorrow and I have Thursday and Friday off (the Grand prix is too close to our school and they (the cars) practice really loudly during the day). My impulses took over my logic and my feet led me to the shoe sale…

Accessories!

Well Clutch bags to be more specific. I started the one with black lace in my V.E.T. class but we had to stick with their pattern and their trimmings, so I got pretty damn angry and made the one with the bow after wards. Not exactly the best clucth ever, but it’s a pretty good start.

My mum reads my blog…And do does her friends

20 03 2009

Hi mum…? I’ve been reading your MSN conversations as pay back.

Cool mums have a down side too…

Next thing you know she’ll be following me on twitter… Please don’t.

‘Glowy’ people

19 03 2009

There are ‘glowy’ people in the world, they’re not necessarily pretty, model-ish or extraordinarily stylish but they have a slight glow about the (I’m not talking about the pregnancy glow either). Like this morning, on the train, I was ‘reading material-less’ so I was people watching and almost immediately I noticed this 20 something girl. It wasn’t her vivid red hair(it was too ‘red’ to be real), her face(reminded me of someone, but on one famous), her bag(grey, canvas, over sized tote bag, from Wichery I think), her clothes(black, boat neck knit top, silver grey shorts over black opaques) or her height(5′5-6)… She just had this look about her, like “hi, I just got back from a Clairns campaigned shoot and they used all their brightening products on my face, wanna see the goodie bag they gave me?” I dunno, maybe she was just some average, 20 something, who had a thing for early 2008 fashions and hair dye. But I wish I was her.

PS. This is such a pointless post, but man was it a good idea when I was writing it on the train this morning…
