After receiving such lovely comments about the dress I decided to post a ‘how I wore it’. And yes I am sure it only took 74 minutes to make, that’s how long the trashy movie I was watching while I made the dress went for.
The dress is actually really sheer (especially under light so I either have to wear a top and tights underneath it or make a lining for the dress.
Thermal Top: /
Belt: I have no idea, I think it’s vintage… I dunno, I just found it in my bucket of ‘clothes I bought but never wore’
Tights: 60 denier from Target!
Shoes: Yellow, perspex heel wedges, I thought maybe I’ll do a ‘matchy’ thing but right now, in hindsight it doesn’t look that good…
Bag (not seen here): I was in a rush so I just dumped the contents of my school bag into my black Guess bag…
After fiddling around with it (the dress) I realised it can also be worn as a ‘cape dress’ and I put on some suede Mary Jane’s.
I think I might buy some more fabric (opaque preferably, suggestions?) and make another one, except I’ll stitch the gathering down so it can be a real cape dress.
