So today I went to a humble, suburban shopping center we ‘northsiders’ know as ‘Northies’ (short for Northland) with my mummy. I was on the search of the perfect fitting(which means sort of loose), plain t-shirt, because I’ve never had one. Either they’re too baggy, too tight, too clingy, too sheer, badly cut or not comfortable enough. After trying on numerous v-necks, scoop necks, boat necks, extra long, and even shrunken t-shirts I was beginning to lose hope. Then finally venturing in and out every shop (excluding Supre and Christopher Ari) I finally found it; at Giordano. 95%cotton 5% lycra, scoop neck t-shirts in XL(after trying on heaps of t-shirts I know the scoop neck fits me best). At 2 for $30, they’re an absolute steal (I’m not ready to pay $70 for a simple tee)! I’ll test drive them for a few days and if they’re really good, I might go back for more.
On my way out, I bought this month’s Australian Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Despite the really badly printed (It looks like they’ve enlarged a thumbnail) cover, this issue of HB is really good! 4 beautiful editorials; Pania Rose, Makenzie Weinman, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Catherine McNeil and Emma Balfour. No sign of Jamie’s bye bye as of yet… But the same can’t be said for Vogue. The editorials were blah, the Meisel piece was ripped straight out of US Vogue, and the ‘venomous nobodies’ article about bloggers(which I was really looking forward to) did nothing for me. But hey, props for using an original cover.
I felt seriously over dressed even though I felt like I ‘dressed down’.

Man, I have a similar problem with finding a men’s T that is fitted, yet relaxed enough to not make me look eight months pregnant, and with a neckline that will neither choke me nor give me man-boobs.
*sigh*
I really like the ensemble that you’ve posted today, and the clutch that you made: it is a great design
Xx
After months on the same t-shirt quest, I finally found my salvation – Agent Ninety-Nine at General Pants 2 for $40 on sale. Mercerised cotton with a slightly rolled sleeve. Heaven in a scoop neck grey t-shirt. If the Giordano ones don’t work out you should give them a go. Meanwhile, I’m off to Giordano at lunch tomorrow – I forgot we have one near our office.
@Grant there are t-shirts that give you man boobs?Gee, now that’s really bad. Thanks, I whipped the clutch up in like 2 hours. No zips, just loads of velcro. haha
@Research Nerd Is it the really slouchy one? Heaps of my friends have them. I’m not sure if I like the ‘bat-wing’ effect…
so what was that venomous bloggers article really about?
don’t conform! heh
i love this outfit but as soon as you wear heels and gloves to a suburban shopping centre you’re gonna feel overdressed…you have to wear trackies or jeans…or leggings to fit in.
@adreamer maybe it was because I was talking to my mum and reading the article at the same time but it doesn’t really make sense, it’s really just talking about this girl who googles herself. ahah and “the observer gets observed” -rolles eyes-
It’s not good, just piles and piles of rambling.
Yeahhh I was like stared up and down soo many times(didn’t help that my mum looked like my ‘assistant’), but it made it easier to ignore the people in Myer trying to give you stinky perfume samples.
It’s not the batwing top – I tried one on but it isn’t my style. They look quite similar to the Giordano one above – plain but with a slightly wider scoop neck.
And agreed on the blogger article. I felt like there was something lacking from it.
