Basic is best

After making my jersey bandage dress I wanted to created another dress that is simple, comfortable and at the same time elegant. I played with several ideas before settling on a draped dress with a slight ruffle hem and a little touch of lace at the back.
You might have seen me tweet quite a bit lately about ‘the snood’, no, not the crocheted headwear worn by women to keep their hair back as Super Kawaii Mama thought (though I agree, traditional snoods should make a come back too), but the scarf-hood! Or circle scarf as some call it. My mum was quite eager to knit me a snood and since I know she’s a fabulous knitter (but she never finished things) + I was keen on getting my hands on one before winter starts, I let her knit away! Lucky me, she finished it within 4 days! Even though it’s the middle of summer, I still wore a snood today.
In other news, wanna take a jab at what Marla gave me?
How about now?
Oh yes, it is what you think it is! Isn’t it adorable?

The lace is such a wonderful touch on that dress! Just beautiful, really.
Love the snood and the dress!! The snood is such a great DIY, I’m thinking a black Jersey one… encrusted with studs for winter…. actually I just thought that out loud now, I’m going to get the supplies and do it!

OHMGosh that umbrella is the best invention ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask where she got it, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?????? And your dress and outfits are gorgeous too but you already know I love everything you make and wear. And I can’t wait to see that sequined tank dress you got/gonna get!

Hi Angela, don’t blame me can’t finish other knitings. I’m a little bit lazy, and having allergy problems. But you look great. I bet if we have more yarn i will make more fashionable.

Hah! I thought the umbrella was a bottle of wine for the first and second photo…
I was thinking “Who is this Marla? Is she underage?”
:S
Fabulous as always Angela!
xx, Blaire.
But wait there’s more! The umbrella can double as a club for any pervy Mebournites of the male persuasion.
Thanks for the comment, Ange.
I’ve actually had you on my blogroll for ages, but as you can see it has disappeared. When I get the time to do a new one, of course you’re on it.
You are beautiful !
