Marchesa Fall Winter ’10
February 22, 2010 § 6 Comments
Marchesa is always so gorgeous; miles of flowing tulle, lace, silk. Drenched in feminine glamour, sex appeal, with a touch of eccentricity. The shapes are always flamboyant and full of intricate detail. Obviously this collection was no different but the photography, lighting, hair and make up was a HUGE let down. It literally looked like ‘the morning after’ all we need was a ’shoes-in-hand-fumbling-with-the-keys-at-6-am’ moment to compliment it, and the lighting is so incredibly unflattering. But again, the garments are splendid, this is the stuff that dreams are made of.

I really love the last dress on the left, the lace and floating flounces are delicious.
All the dresses are utterly gorgeous but like you said the styling disastrous. The models all look like they have had a hard night out and then walked down the runway…
To quote Anthony Maratino from SATC- ‘HATES IT!!!!’
The photos on nymag.com are exponentially better than those on style.com : http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2010/fall/main/newyork/womenrunway/marchesa/
Phenomenal shapes, as usual, and I’m sure we’ll see a few of them at awards to come!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Marchesa – their red carpet dresses are incredible. Georgina Chapman is such a great embodiment of the brand too…
Marchesa never fails to deliver the pretty. That red dress is to die for gorgeous.
Oh dear lord, this collection is divine! I would have/wear/buy all* of that… after selling my kidneys and maybe some of my kids as well.
I’m kidding. I need my kid…s.
Perhaps the styling was deliberate…? A subliminal message that says you may look like roadkill the morning after but your Marchesa will always be divine.
*except for the pregnant tulle tux 5th pic.
