Rouched skirt, boxy jacket.

The good thing about knowing how to sew and design is the ability to whip something up when you have one of those ‘full wardrobe and nothing to wear’ moments. My blogging and designing mojo’s been a bit low lately, so forgive me for the lack of posts during the past week. It wasn’t until the beginning of last week when I needed something to wear that I started this jacket and skirt ensemble and once I started, nothing could stop it, all I could think about was how to do this hem or how to finish that seam to make it fit better et cetera et cetera! This is the first jacket I made and it in fact is actually a mock up! But since it turned out quite nice I thought why not?
This is a skirt I’ve always wanted to make but never got around to because I thought the combination of the fabrics and rouching wouldn’t be very flattering, but after a few different tweeks and help from my lovely VET teacher I was(gladly) proven wrong!

Young lady you are just far too talented for your own good!
The jacket is just blowing my mind right now, and you say that it’s a prototype?

I also love the skirt – it has a Rodarte/Versace quality to it that I adore.

you MADE THIS?!!? that is incredible!!! you did an AWESOME JOB, and i am impressed!
p.s the other week i was hemming a shirt and practically screaming at the sewing machine, as i couldn’t get the bobbin to thread properly. i am not a patient gal, so sewing is not really easy for me….AT ALL!
That skirt is gorgeous lady and the jacket is amazing… I wish I could sew like that.
WOW. WOW. WOW. That cropped jacket is soooo Oscar!
