First Designs of 2012

I rambled on about change and a great year for 2012, but action speaks louder than words. Just because I’ll be studying Interior Architecture instead of Fashion doesn’t mean I’ll stop sewing+designing! I got the ball rolling by spending up pretty much all of my Christmas money on boxing day sales at fabric stores. I started doodling my summer wardrobe ideas on practice exam papers back in october, colour, pattern and a more floaty silhouette filled my visions. This is what I’ve made so far:
Colour block orange and purple blouse
Purple lace and chiffon tie neck blouse
Blue star patterned blouse
Grey patterned tie neck blouse
Paint stroke tie neck blouse
Grey twist shoulder top
White twist shoulder top
Black twist shoulder top
Black chiffon midi skirt
Purple two toned maxi skirt
Paint stroke midi skirt
Teal chiffon midi skirt
Grey patterned ruffled maxi skirt
Grey and black block skirt
Grey and black body con skirt
I can’t believe I use to swear against wearing anything longer than a mini. What are your essentials this summer? Or winter if you’re on the opposite hemisphere?

I’ve lost the remote to my Nikon, which makes outfit photos 1000x longer to take, how did I use to function without one?! Guess we’ll have to make do with over exposed and out of focus photos for a while…

Fingers crossed I find my remote soon! I have so many new designs to show!

PS. 600th post! Wooh!!
PPS. I got into Interior Architecture at Monash University so I think I’m heading down that lane, not exactly my utmost ultimate dream (fashion), nor a typical ‘make-your-asian-parents-proud’ Commerce at Melbourne U, but still a really great course and one I’ll be going into with a very open heart(and brain)! Any Monash readers?

The holiday season is well and truly over, and whether we like it or now, we’re all heading back to our old routines. I’ve had a hectic festive season and wish I had time to knock together a farewell 2011 post. 2011 was an amazing year, I was in The Age newspaper and Dolly magazine, finished high school and created around 100 garments and accessories. I hope 2012 is just as full of laughs, adventure and opportunities, for my academia (starting Uni!) and for my creative outlets(might give this blog and my website a facelift it desperately needs). It’s funny that whenever I feel the urge to do an outfit post it is always when there’s a sudden change in temperature. Change inspires me I guess haha.
