Jersey, cotton and tweed

As busy as I have been for the last couple of weeks, I still managed to make some of the designs I’ve sketched up during my down time. While most of my school friends are buying  up a frenzy trying to stock up on things to wear [since we don't have our trusty old school uniform anymore] I’ve been frantically brain storming, sketching and making versatile, simple garments to wear. Mum bought loads of cute printed modal and jersey while overseas, it’s been a bit of challenge since there’s so much stretch and drape to account but I managed!

PS. I was lucky enough to be featured on page four of the The Age last sunday. It was an amazing experience and I was so surprised(and flattered) it took up half a page! You can read the story here.  PPS.I kept on typing ‘tweet’ instead of ‘tweed’- addicted much?!

My red collection

4 Weeks and taaadaaaa! Finally it’s done! So here are the sketch again, everything’s pretty much the same except for the bow on the cape and the peplum.

These first ones are made out of cotton sateen:

Depending on the feedback I think I might even make some more and sell some of these!

One hectic week down, one more to go! This week I’ve done 2 math exams, had a run in with tonsillitis, suffered from severe Gossip Girl withdraws and wrapped it all up some down time with Lisa on friday night (in uniform, so it was pretty bland). Next week I’ve got one art folio due in, an English Oral, Vis Comm project, Fashion history paper and a french written SAC! Luckily I’ve got a week off the week after, 2 more weeks of school and then it’s the holidays! YAYYYY!

Update on the red collection: Everything is done except for the peplum, I’m not totally sure if I want to add another skirt to the collection after it, I’ve still got some really lovely red wool left over from the cape.

More jersey magic and some OTT love!

With the left over metre of my new favourite fabric, black jersey I decided to make a form fitted skirt, inspired by the (possibly Herve Leger) one worn by Lara Stone in Brazil. Well to put it frankly; not really, I just saw it and thought “Hey, I need a nice plain black skirt, has to be form fitting but also has to hide my unfortunate saddle bags, ah! Side peplums! Double side peplums!”

I’m not usually a bra flasher but I recently got myself some fabulous Pleasure State Couture lingerie and it’s so gorgeous and ornate I just couldn’t resist!

I would like to thank darling porcelain blonde for passing on the Over The Top award me this me. Who I can’t wait to catch up with when my homework’s done and schedules are cleared.

1. Where is your cell phone? Right next to me, just deleted a whole lot of stuff to free up some space

2. Your hair? What about it? It’s down, no fuss, minimal product, just the way I like it

5. Your favorite food? Anything really wholesome and comforting

6. Your dream last night? Can’t remember but it’s the first time in a long time I’ve slept past 8am!

7. Your favorite drink? Belini, tea, watermelon smoothies, green apple or pineapple snow shakes from bubble tea

8. Your dream/goal? To make a mark on the fashion industry in the form of a designer

9. What room are you in? My sewing room

10. Your hobby? Keeping you lot entertained!

11. Your fear? Time, school, failure, and the usual, heights, most animals, and twilight fans…

12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? In new york, reaching my goal (see no.8) oh and “Alive!” thanks Porcelain Blonde for reminding me

13. Where were you last night? At home, being boring

14. Something you aren’t? A fan of tanning

15. Muffins? Hmmmm, I love making them but I only eat them warm.

16. Wish list item? Chanel; 2.55, Mulberry bayswater, Alexander Wang Rocco, sheer-ish black t-shirt.

17. Where did you grow up? 8 year in China, 7 years here

18. Last thing you did? Make scrambled egg whites on toast

19. What are you wearing? work out clothes, t-shirt, shorts, socks, silver converses!

22. Your friends? Are all recovering from the Big Day Out
23. Your life? Will hopefully be full of 5,7, 8, 12, 15, 16 and 22.

26. Vehicle? I’m 15 years old, I can’t drive! But you know, a chauffeur would be fabulous.

28. Your favorite store? Tug of war between spotlight, lincraft and clegs

29. Your favorite color? Black, goes with everything

30. When was the last time you laughed? 34 seconds ago “I wun that wun”

31. Last time you cried? Can’t exactly remember but it was about school

32. Your best friend? Lisa and Marla/Munchie

33. One place that I go over and over? My usual coffee shop

34. One person who emails me regularly? WordPress, TFS, net-a-porter, google alerts, None of my friends email me because why email when you have twitter, msn, phones, morse code, snail mail

35. Favorite place to eat? Anywhere with great company and yummy food.
