Best of New York:
Jason Wu, so feminine, so chic, and most importantly it was relevant and wearable!
Zac Posen, yes the colours could potentially burn your retinas but the cutting was divine…
Marchesa, who doesn’t love Marchesa? It is the creme de la creme of formal wear.
Best of Milan:
Moschino, it was classic but not bland. The accessories were adorable, and that pearl embellished boucle jacket made my heart melt like butter on warm toast (sorry, just watched ‘confessions of a shopaholic’ BTW such a crap, stereotypical movie)
Versace, it got me actually excited about summer, need I say more?
Dolce and Gabbana. Three words, wow, wow, wee! Sexy and retro, but ignor the shoes, oh please ignore the disgustig shoes.
Best of Paris:
Lanvin, sculptural, feminine, all out pure Lanvin!
Christian Dior, I know I didn’t review this collection but I did love it, really, I did! Galliano added a dash sportif to his usual sexy concoctions. The delicate slip dresses paired with the trench coats were so divine.
Valentino, again, I didn’t review it but this collection has rekindled my love for valentino. There was just something so stunningly beautiful about the ruffled semi opaque organza and gothic black lace.

Chanel S/S10

-sigh- You know, I’m not a massive fan of Chanel, never really have been and I’m afraid until Karl decides to do something drastic or retire and a new designer comes a long I’m afraid I never will be head over heels in love with Chanel. There hasn’t been a collection since S/S07 where I have loved everything in the whole show, there are always elements that I absolutely hate but also elements I just can’t help but fall in love with. usually it’s the clothes I hate and the shoes/accessories that I love but this season it’s the opposite! The clothes were stunningly intricate, but outrageously not over the top. There were just enough classic, and elegant pieces to balance the cute, sexy, sneaky (probably isn’t the right word) chiffon dresses and thigh split dresses. The wooden clogs made me sick in the stomach, and the stockings… arhg COPY CAT Nina Ricci Fall 2007 (here)! There was a surprising lack of bags which usually is a bit of a life-line for me…
To be fair, I probably should consider the performance side of things because Karl loves to put on a show (yes, at none other than the Grand Palais). The barn set was very impressive, Lily Allen did a little song, not to mention the huge audience of celebrities and apparently “at the end, Freja Beha Erichsen, Lara Stone, and Lagerfeld’s constant companion, Baptiste Giabiconi, were literally rolling around in the hay together” (source-style.com) that in it self would be worth seeing!

This collection was absolutely magnificent, everything was breathtaking. The peplum dresses, plisse jumpsuits, chain strap shoes, all of it, everything was deeply ‘lanvin’; sculptural yet feminine. Alber Elbaz is a genious! There really aren’t enough praise in the world I could type to describe how much I love this collection so why don’t you take a look for yourselves?

Ah-mah-gawd! I am so inspired, truly. At the beginning of each season (weather, not fashion) I sketch a few quick pieced that I’m going to make to wear (I don’t usually post them because I they’re very simple, straightforward ‘technical drawings’) and at the end of last month I thought “nah, no floral prints or brights for spring, too cliché”
Versace changed my mind. Everything from this collection screamed “SUMMER!” ok maybe except for the shoes; they scream “ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!” My favourite look was the opening (yeah Abbey Lee Kershaw opened, hopefully she gets this season’s campaign too!), it was so beautifully clashy; the yellow print with that slightly psychedelic white and black print panel in the middle and the metallic bandage waist…
Oh look at the time, I’ve got to go, off to Clegs to by myself a few metres of floral and get my legs waxed! Enjoy the pictures (courtesy of style.com as always)

I don’t know what to say, I just want to sit in the corner of a room, in flannel pajamas, with a bowl of full fat ice cream and just sob between mouthfuls. It’s just so bad, I’ve been lusting after last season’s ‘power bandage’ dress for so long and I was looking for something new from Preen and this whole collection was just ‘drab’, it lacked ‘pazaaz’. There was something so horribly 90′s about it all. The odd spaghetti straps, the shoulder padded lace blouse (I have nothing against shoulder pads but they have GOT to done right!) and the straight legged shiny pants reminded me too much of the first season of SATC (again, in a BAD way).

Marchesa S/S09

I am so in love… Marchesa always delivers an amazing, etherial, seriously lustworthy collection and this season was nothing short of it. The rose shaped cut-out dress is probably the most epic dress I have seen since… well last season Marchesa I guess… The white (cape?) dress and the printed stockings add a slightly more animated element in the collection. Over all it all looked so dreamy…
