TOPSHOP launch
December 8, 2011 § 21 Comments
Last night after my last Uni interview and some dinner at beloved Mamasitas, I attended the launch of TOPSHOP and TOPMAN Melbourne.
My guest (Lisa) and I perused the collections with canapes and cocktails a-flowing (which made all the shiny sequins, glitter and colours POP even more-not that they needed it)! Weaving in between the gorgeous crowd, turning a corner to bump into Kimbra, then Alice Burdeu was certainly one of the highlights. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay for long but I managed to squeeze a quick hello to Lady Melbourne, Fashion Hayley and finally (!) met Esme&theLaneway who is every bit as glamorous in real life as on her blog. On to the clothes:
Shiny! SHINY!

How adorable are these slippers?!
Loved this bodysuit, if only it came in black!
Suede and studs
The band that got us in, and “on the list” haha

Inkblot dress: My own design Satin pumps: La femme de Moment Bag: Styleholic Jewels: My own design, ASOS and eBay
What a co-incidence, flipped to the first page of the MX to see this on my way home! So glad I wouldn’t have to wait until today and line up (ZARA style) to see the looks.
If you can brave the crowds, I would most definitely recommend you whisk yourself to Chapel St and check it out for yourself.

I am so behind on outfit posts dispite the fact that it’s the holidays! Here’s one from last friday, it was casual day at school and there were no themes! I love dressing with themes, sometimes there’ll be a picture or an editorial that inspires me and I take it as a personal challange, I think one week I’ll do all the colours of the rainbow. A colour each day, wouldn’t that be… interesting? Though, I don’t own much orange or yellow. Anyway, friday was lovely due to the fact I had an extra early finish because it was formal night. I didn’t go so I had plenty of time to go for a run and undo it all with a visit to Laurent with Lisa who is officially the worst food influence ever since she has metabolism the speed of light. Though I was informed by many people about how nice my skirt was… little did they know it was just a piece of fabric I had basically wrapped aroud me because my t-shirt was too short to wear as a dress and I neede something tight that would stay put incase I ever had to bend over (which I don’t do since I bend with my knees, but sometimes it’s just nice to to flash your stocking crotch to the greater public of Melbourne).
I’ve worn this coat numerous times but I’ve never posted a close up it, the anchor buttons are so cute.

Again and again

I’ve been taught once you find something amazing, never let it go. I’ve turned it into ‘once you find a look that works, keep wearing it’. My black blazer and AW have been the latest victim, I’ve worn them 5 times in the past fortnight. I just can’t seem top let go! Both are so easy to wear and transforms an outfit entirely when worn.
2 days ago at the RBG with opaques, silver skirt of my design, a lace top, comfy flats and bright Zara scarf.
Yesterday, shopping and chilling out at St.Kilda paired with dress (worn as top) and skirt of my design, perspex wedges and glizy bracelet.
Oh and this is apparently a very ‘cinematic and dramatic’ photo of me, looking all sad and sappy because I didn’t get to spend an outrageous amount on money on materialistic things that even back at ASAB HQ wanted me to put up… Actually usually I’d just say “no eff off” (Yeah I am feeling a little bitter today) but my hair looks so good there! And that’s sans any hair treatments! I’ve run out of all the good stuff (Redkens/Karestaste) and only have gluggy James Brown and gross smelling Schwarzkopf left.
Speaking of materialistic, how gorgeous are these Swarovski stone goodies from VinaVina? Ever since I found out my birth stone was amethyst I’ve been going nuts for purple jewellery.

No these aren’t Swarovski branded but I love them none the less.
Happy easter my little bunnies, I’m off to drown my feelings in tea, tim tams and mocha hot cross buns)
